Bio-Control Agent
GMO-free, naturally derived product
The client approached us without a scalable production process, as development had been limited to shake flask experiments and had not yet been transferred to controlled fermenter systems. This project therefore focused on bio-control agent scale-up, establishing a structured fermentation strategy and downstream development to enable industrial feasibility.
To enable industrial feasibility and future scale-up, a structured fermentation strategy and downstream process development were required.
Process Development & Tech Transfer
In close collaboration with the client, our team established a foundational fermentation process in a laboratory-scale fermenter, transitioning the product from shake flask experiments to controlled bioreactor conditions.
Following this initial phase, the client continued optimizing the process independently for several months before requesting scale-up support. At that stage, our team performed a structured technology transfer of the existing protocol, ensuring process reproducibility and readiness for scaling.
Since no scalable downstream process was in place, we developed a dedicated DSP strategy to improve recovery efficiency after scale-up and to support industrial robustness.
Scale-Up
The bio-control agent scale-up program successfully advanced the process to an 80L fermenter, validating its performance beyond laboratory conditions, and is currently progressing toward 1,000L production to manufacture material for field testing.
In parallel, a robust and scalable downstream process was established to support further industrial progression and ensure process reproducibility at larger manufacturing scales.
